Our little weekend break away was just smashing, and we are fully recharged and topped up with each other all over again.
We went to the beautiful Wiltshire town of Royal Wootton Bassett.
It has such a village-y feel to it: very friendly people, delightful little quirky shops, places to sit and stare, the old and the new.
We chose to stay at a gorgeous pub-restaurant with accommodation, called The Angel
We booked in for dinner at the pub, unpacked our little overnight bag and..
Our meal was super: - a platter of breads, olives, roasted garlic and dipping oil to share, followed by HM pasta parcels of spinach and cheese on a pea shoot salad (was divine), and then a platter of local cheeses to share for our dessert.
I only took one pic of our dinner - sorry!
Here are some of the pics I took on Saturday as we walked and talked and sat and chatted and just enjoyed our time out together:
The weather was unseasonably warm - I didn't even need a cardigan on over my t-shirt and jeans.
I wonder what the folk in this balloon could see from up there?
The hooky-ness is just a little sneak preview of a Christmas project I will unveil very soon. . .
I think this newspaper competition might be for quite a niche market...
I thought this little patchwork robin was beautiful, but the price brought a little expletive from my lips!
We popped into lots of charity shops and managed to get some little bits and bobs which I will share another time...
What did you get up to this weekend?
